This provides an opportunity for commissioners to single out exemplary supporters of libraries. The Los Altos Library Commissioners have voted unanimously to nominate Dianne McKenna for her work this year on the Santa Clara County Library Task Force which sought a funding solution for our libraries. Her leadership and advocacy were instrumental in the implementation of the task force. We are nominating Dianne in category 5, "Elected Local, state, or federal official from California for special support or promotion of legislation to benefit libraries and/or library services." The application form is in the quarterly CALTACTICS newsletter, No. 2, April -June, 1994 (see attached). Perhaps your commissioners would also consider Dianne McKenna for this category of the award. The more nominations submitted the greater the opportunity for selection. Sincerely, Susan Heintzelman. Chair Los Altos Library Commission attachment RESPONSIVE - INNOVATIVE - CONCERNED
