Regular Meeting
Minutes
DATE: Tuesday, November 12, 2019

Saratoga, CA 95070
Call to Order: at 6:30 p.m.
Commissioners Present: Ping Li Renee Paquier, Rick Pearce, and Terry Ward
Commissioners Absent: Sandy Muju
Report on Posting of the Agenda: Pursuant to Government Code Section 54954.2, this meeting was properly
posted on November 7, 2019. Kristin Borel reports
Accept Agenda Items: No additional items may be added pursuant to Government Code Section 54954.2.
Approved and accepted
Oral & Written Communication: Any member of the public may address the Commission about any matter not
on the agenda for this meeting for up three minutes. Commissioners may not comment on the matter
but may choose to place the topic on a future agenda.
Email from Saratoga Librarian requesting a PRC member attend the showing of park drone videos and
talk about them.
Approval of Parks and Recreation Commission Draft Minutes:
• September 10, 2019 – Approved 4-0
Agenda:
1. Park Improvements Plan
Two representatives from the Youth Commission presented a plan for fundraising for park
improvements. The Commission agreed to create a list of improvements that could be accomplished with
their budget goals.
The Commission recommended that a Capital Improvement Project be created for Wildwood Park
improvements.
Commissioners will think about small park projects that would be appropriate as Scout Projects.
2. Election of New Chair and Vice Chair
Terry Ward elected Chair and Renee Paquier Vice Chair

3. Bid Results for Saratoga to Sanborn Trail Project
John Cherbone announced bid results. Mountain Bikers of Santa Cruz were awarded the contract.
4. Historic Plaque Program
Renee Paquier and Terry Ward agreed to work with the Historical Society on research and background
for each of the City parks.
5. Prioritize and add items to the PRC Workplan
Movies for Seniors - will wait for Tyler Taylor to schedule a movie day
On-going Parks survey - will add to workplan and discuss with Council at the next joint meeting
Park sign design- will add to workplan and discuss with Council at the next joint meeting
