RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SARATOGA
TO ADOPT A NEW CAPITAL PROJECT
IN THE FY 2019/20 CAPITAL BUDGET FOR THE
MCFARLAND AVENUE CURB AND GUTTER REPLACEMENT PROJECT
WITH FUNDING FROM THE CAPITAL RESERVE FUND
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to provide a safe and functional roadway and
pedestrian street system; and
WHEREAS, the condition of the rolled curb and gutter along McFarland Avenue is
deteriorated due to age and tree root damage creating potential safety hazards and impediment to
storm water flow; and
WHEREAS, removal and replacement of the existing curb and gutter with vertical curb
and gutter will allow for better flow of storm water and minimize erosion damage to the
roadway; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to utilize funding available in the Capital Reserve
Fund to complete the work without delay, and
WHEREAS, the City Council hereby adopts a new project in the Capital Budget for the
McFarland Avenue Curb and Gutter Replacement Project, and
WHEREAS, the City Council approves an adjustment to the Fiscal Year 2019/20
Operating and Capital Improvement Budget as follows;

To appropriate the transfer out of the General Fund's Capital Reserve to the McFarland
Avenue Curb and Gutter Replacement CIP:
Transfer Out 111.8101.99999 $ 350,000
To appropriate the transfer in of funding and increase the expenditure appropriations for the
McFarland Avenue Curb and Gutter Replacement CIP:
Transfer in 411.xxxx-xxx.49999 $ 350,000
Expenditure 411.xxxx-xxx.81161 $ 350,000
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of
Saratoga hereby approves a new McFarland Avenue Curb and Gutter Replacement capital
project in Fiscal Year 2019/20 and approves the above adjustments to the Fiscal Year 2019/20
Operating and Capital Improvement Budget.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the above and foregoing resolution was passed and
adopted at a regular meeting of the Saratoga City Council held on the 15th day of April 2020 by
the following vote:.
