RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SARATOGA
TO PROVIDE ADDITIONAL FUNDING TO THE
FRUITVALE AVENUE AND ALLENDALE AVENUE
INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENTS CAPITAL PROJECT WITH
FUNDING FROM THE CAPITAL RESERVE FUND
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to provide a safe and functional roadway and
pedestrian street system; and
WHEREAS, the City Council had approved a Fiscal Year 2019/20 budget for the
Fruitvale and Allendale Avenue Intersection Improvements capital project
WHEREAS, the design consultant has completed the plans for the improvements and the
resulting Engineer's Estimate for the project is higher than previously budgeted; and
WHEREAS, additional funding of $125,000 is now required to complete the project; and
WHEREAS, funding of $90,000 is available from the balance of the Citywide Signals
Upgrade Phase II capital project and the remaining $35,000 will be funded by the Capital
Reserve Fund; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to complete the work without delay, and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to adjust the Fiscal Year 2019/20 Operating and Capital
Improvement Budget as follows;

To appropriate the transfer out of the General Fund's Capital Reserve to the Fruitvale
Avenue and Allendale Avenue Intersection Improvements capital project :

To appropriate the reduction in Expenditure appropriations and transfer out of the Citywide
Signals Upgrade Phase II CIP to the Fruitvale Avenue and Allendale Avenue Intersection
Improvements CIP:
Expenditure 411.9122-007.81161 $90,000
Transfer Out 411.9122-007.99999 $ 90,000
To appropriate the transfer in of funding and increase the expenditure appropriations for the
Fruitvale Avenue and Allendale Avenue Intersection Improvements CIP:
Transfer in 411.9122-010.49999 $ 125,000
Expenditure 411.9122-010.81161 $ 125,000
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of
Saratoga hereby approves additional funding for the Fruitvale Avenue and Allendale Avenue
Intersection Improvement Project in Fiscal Year 2019/20 and approves the above adjustments to
the Fiscal Year 2019/20 Operating and Capital Improvement Budgets.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the above and foregoing resolution was passed and
adopted at a regular meeting of the Saratoga City Council held on the 15th day of April 2020 by
the following vote:
