HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 20-069 defining roles of Public Art CommitteeRESOLUTION NO.20-069 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SARATOGA DEFINING THE ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE PUBLIC ART COMMITTEE AND ADDING ADVISORY MEMBERS TO THE COMMITTEE WHEREAS, the City Council established the Public Art Committee in December 2016 as part of the annual City Council assignment process to consist of 2 Saratoga City Council Members responsible for considering and recommending opportunities for public art in Saratoga and authorizing placement of public art in the City of Saratoga in compliance with the City's Public Art Policy; and WHEREAS, the work of the Public Art Committee can be supported by insight and perspective from others and therefore the City Council wishes to expand the Committee to include advisory members. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Saratoga hereby declares that: 1. The Public Art Committee is responsible for considering and recommending opportunities for public art in Saratoga and authorizing placement of public art in the City of Saratoga in compliance with the City's Public Art Policy; 2. The Public Art Committee consists of two Saratoga City Council members appointed by the Council each year for a one-year term and three non -voting advisory members. Advisory members shall serve terms of one calendar year and may be reappointed. Two of the advisory members shall be appointed by the voting members of the Committee and one shall be a member of the Library and Community Engagement Commission appointed by that Commission. Advisory members may be removed at any time for any reason by vote of the Public Art Committee. The above and foregoing resolution was passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Saratoga City Council held on the 41h day of November 2020 by the following vote: AYES: Mayor Howard A.
