REGULAR MEETING MINUTES
March 9, 2021

1. Site Visit(s):
a. None
2. Call to Order: Chair Shah called the meeting to order at 8:31 AM
3. Roll Call: Present: Chair Rina Shah, Vice Chair Annette Stransky and Marie Lopresto
Staff: Nicole Johnson, Senior Planner
4. Oral Communications: None
5. Approval of the February 9, 2021 and February 16, 2021 minutes
LOPRESTO/ STRANSKY MOVED TO APPROVE THE MINUTES FOR THE FEBRUARY 9, 2021 AND FEBRUARY 16, 2021 MEETINGS. MOTION PASSED.
AYES: SHAH, STRANSKY, LOPRESTO. NOES: NONE. ABSTAIN: NONE. ABSENT: NONE
6. New Business
a. 20280 Saratoga Los Gatos Road (Seven Oaks) LOPRESTO/ STRANSKY MOVED TO RECOMMED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL
CONSIDER SEVEN OAKS FOR LANDMARK STATUS AND MILLS ACT APPLICATION. MOTION PASSED. AYES: SHAH, STRANSKY, LOPRESTO. NOES:
NONE. ABSTAIN: NONE. ABSENT: NONE b. 2019/2020 Annual Certified Local Government (CLG) Report
The HPC reviewed the CLG report prepared by Staff and recommend forwarding to the CA Office of Historic Preservation
7. Staff Comments
Nicole Johnson reminded the HPC that there are current recruitments for two HPC vacancies.

8. Old Business
a. Heritage Orchard update from Orchard Keepers: Matthew Sutton from Orchard Keepers provided his first quarterly report of
2021. The focus was the transition of the orchard from the last 30 years of a conventional approach of care to a regenerative approach which focuses on
the revitalization of soil biology and fertility, community involvement and an Integrated Pest Management Plan.
b. 21/22 HPC Workplan: The HPC reviewed and modified the proposed workplan to be presented to
the City Council at the joint meeting. c. Project Status Update:
The Commissioners discussed the workplan status and provided edits.
9. Commission Items a. State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) Theme for Preservation Month
(Chair Shah) The Commissioners discussed a theme National Preservation Month (May
2021) and discussed ideas to highlight preservation.
10. Adjournment : Chair Shah adjourned the meeting at 9:57 AM.
