RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SARATOGA
TO CREATE A NEW CIP HILLSIDE STABILIZATION REPAIR PROJECT
WITH FUNDING FROM THE HILLSIDE STABILITY RESERVE
WHEREAS, the retaining wall along a section of Pierce Road near Chalet Clotilde has
failed, making the roadway unstable; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to maintain the City's hillside roadways and
retaining walls and has set aside funds in the Hillside Stability Reserve 'for unanticipated or
unforeseen emergency or extraordinary costs related to hillside degradation, inclusive of slide
prevention and mitigation, slide repair, and associated drainage and roadwork", and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to utilize this Fund Balance Reserve for the Pierce
Road Retainment Project to stabilize the roadway without delay, and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to set up new CIP project in the budget for the Pierce Road
Retainment Project, and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to adjust the Fiscal Year 2020/21 Operating and Capital
Improvement Budget as follows;

To appropriate the transfer out of the General Fund's Hillside Stability Reserve to the Pierce
Road Retainment CIP project:
Transfer Out 111.8101.99999 $ 400,000
To appropriate the transfer in of funding and increase the expenditure appropriations for the
Pierce Road Retainment CIP project:
Transfer in 411.xxxx-xxx.49999 $ 400,000
Expenditure 411.xxxx-xxx.81161 $ 400,000
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of
Saratoga hereby approves setting up a new Pierce Road Retainment CIP project in Fiscal Year
2020/21 and approves the above adjustments to the Fiscal Year 2020/21 Operating and Capital
Improvement Budget.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the above and foregoing resolution was passed and
adopted at a regular meeting of the Saratoga City Council held on the 191h day of May 2021 by
the following vote:

Kookie Fitzsimmons, Rishi Kumar
