CITY OF SARATOGA DISASTER COUNCIL MEETING
CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Manny Cappello called the meeting to order at 2:06 p.m. in the Linda Callon Conference
Room at 13777 Fruitvale Avenue in Saratoga, CA.

County Sheriff’s Office Captain Rich Urena, Recreation & Facilities
Director Michael Taylor, Santa Clara County Fire Director of
Emergency Management Dana C. Reed

AGENDA ITEMS:
1. Introductions
2. City of Saratoga 2019 Emergency Operations Plan
Recommended Action: Discuss, make suggestions to staff, and move to recommend
City Council approval of 2019 Emergency Operations Plan.
Michael Taylor, Recreation & Facilities Director, presented a staff report and announced
a change in the draft plan on page 26.
Mayor Cappello asked about a plan for large animal evacuation plans.
Michael Taylor responded that it would be in an appendix still to come. Dana C. Reed
mentioned that current large animal evacuation team is a volunteer team affiliated with
County Fire.
CAPPELLO/ LINDSAY MOVED TO RECOMMEND CITY COUNCIL
APPROVAL OF 2019 EMERGENCY OPERATIONS PLAN. APPROVED BY
ALL.
3. Joint City of Campbell CERT/City of Saratoga CERT Field training Exercise
Recommended Action: Approve the June 1, 2019 exercise.
Michael Taylor presented the staff report.
