A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SARATOGA
AMENDING THE 2023 STORM FUND BUDGET
WHEREAS,City Council adopted Resolution no. 23-001 proclaiming the 2023 Storm and
Drought Emergency at their January 10, 2023 special meeting, and
WHEREAS, City Council Resolution No. 22-008 amended the Fiscal Year 2022-23
Budget on February 1, 2022 to establish the 2023 Storm Fund and appropriate $450,000 for debris
removal, emergency protective measures, and repair damage to infrash�ucture; and
WHEREAS, City Council adopted Resolution No. 23-016 confirming and ratifying the
proclamation of a local emergency issued by the City of Saratoga Director of Emergency Services
resulting from two March severe storms at City Council's March 27, 2023 special meeting, and
WHEREAS, estimates for damages during the proclaimed emergencies are updated and
now total $1,550,000, requiring a $1,100,000 increase in appropriations to ensure budgetary
control in the 2023 Storm Fund; and
WHEREAS, City staff has initiated requests for state and federal financial assistance for
expenditures resulting from the proclaimed emergencies;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED,that the City Council of the City of Saratoga hereby
amends the fiscal year 2022-23 budget in the 2023 Storm Fund by $1,100,000.
The above and foregoing resolution was passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Saratoga
City Council held on the 19'�' day of April 2023 by the following vote:

MAYOR FITZSIMMONS
