2. Call to Order
Chair Boyce-Bender called the meeting to order at 8:30 AM
3. Roll Call
Present: Sharon Boyce-Bender, Zhen Li, Margarete Minar, and Priya Shastri
Absent: None
Staff: Nicole Johnson, Senior Planner
4. Oral Communications
None
5. Approval of the March 14, 2023 minutes
SHASTRI/MINAR MOVED TO APPROVE THE MINUTES FOR THE MARCH 14, 2023
MEETING. MOTION PASSED. AYES: BOYCE-BENDER, LI, MINAR, SHASTRI. NOES:
NONE. ABSTAIN: NONE.
6. New Business
a. Blossom Festival Recap
The Commissioners discussed the Blossom Festival. Would like HPC table to be
closer to the Orchard Keepers to assist with orchard questions. The crafts were
a success with the kids. There were many people interested in the Heritage
Orchard Master Plan. Maybe provide fruit saplings to the public at next year’s
Blossom Festival.
b. Potential HRI properties
Nicole Johnson showed an example of the letter that staff sends to property
owners, informing them that HPC is considering adding the property to the HRI
and why it qualifies per the criteria in the code.

7. Staff Comments
a. Mills Act Agreements
Nicole Johnson discussed the City Council recent conversations of Mills Act
Agreements and informed the HPC that there is an agenda item scheduled for
the June 7th meeting if the HPC members would like to prepare something to
discuss.
8. Old Business
a. Project Status Worksheet
The Commissioners discussed the project status worksheet and assigned the
properties.
9. Commission Items
The Chair asked that the commissioners be prepared at the June meeting to discuss
their Saratoga Jail Research
10. Adjournment
Chair Boyce-Bender adjourned the meeting at 9:05 AM
