SARATOGA PLANNING COMMISSION
SPECIAL MEETING
AUGUST 8, 2023
3:30 P.M. - SITE VISIT
City Hall | 13777 Fruitvale Avenue, Saratoga, CA 95070
Meeting will be held at the site visit locations in the order noted on the agenda.
SITE VISIT AGENDA:
1. Application APTR23-0002; 18693 Devon Ave (389-13-053); Guina Wang (owner) – The
neighbor to the property is appealing the approval of permit application TRP23-0356 for the
removal of three (3) Canary Island Pine trees, Pinus Canariensis, with trunk diameters of 21,
23, and 28 inches which grow in the back yard of the property, Staff contact: Christina Fusco

2. Application PDR22-0016/ARB22-0080: 19348 Athos Place; (389-33-010) David
Kuoppamaki (Applicant) - The applicant is requesting Design Review approval for a new
4,750 square foot two story single-family residence. The project includes a request for a height
exception to increase the allowable 26’ tall building height by an additional 1’-7.5” for a total
building height of 27’-7.5”. The project will also include a 736 square foot detached accessory
dwelling unit with a maximum height of 15’-5”. No protected trees are proposed for removal.
The site is zoned R-1-20,000 with a General Plan Designation of Low Density Residential

ADJOURNMENT
The Site Visit Committee is comprised of interested Planning Commission Members. Site visits
are conducted to properties that are new items on the Planning Commission Agenda and are usually
held the Tuesday preceding the Wednesday hearing. It is encouraged that the applicant and/or
owner to be present to answer any questions that may arise. Site visits are generally short (10 to
20 minutes) because of time constraints. Any presentations and testimony you may wish to give
should be saved for the Public Hearing.
During the Site Visit, the Planning Commission may only discuss items related to the project. The
agenda does not allow any formal votes or motions on the proposed project or other matters. The
Site Visit is a fact-finding meeting where the Commission may ask questions from or hear
statements from members of the public attending the Visit. No comments made during the Site
Visit by the Planning Commission are binding or required to be carried through to the formal
public hearing where actions will be taken on the proposed project.
