The residence is located on a Heritage Lane(Saratoga Avenue) Property Location: 14200 Lutheria Way, Saratoga, California Property APN: 397-24-023 Project Applicant/Owner: Eric Kang Project Description This applicant is proposing a 935 sq. ft.-rear addition to an existing 1,870 sq. ft. single-story residence. Elements of the residence (and.proposed addition) include the continuation of composition shingle roofing, wood windows, and stucco exterior. Preliminary plans have been included as Attachment 1. The residence itself does not warrant HPC review. Since the property is located on a Heritage Lane (Saratoga Avenue),.the City Code requires the project be reviewed by HPC for compliance. The house is completely hidden from Saratoga Avenue due to the extensive landscaping along the northern property line. The addition would not be seen from Saratoga Avenue or Lutheria Way. The following are two options available to the Vommission in reviewing this proposal: 1. Determine that the proposed project is in accordance with the Secretary of the Interior Standards and that it will not have an impact on the historic character of the Heritage Lane: If the HPC determines that the addition will not have an impact on the historic character of the street,the applicant may apply for required permits. 2. Request changes or deny the proposed project: The HPC may deny the application or require the applicant to revise the design and return to the Heritage Preservation Commission for further review.
