Teen Art Show is Friday, Nav, 29 during Saratoga Village Merchants Open House, 6-9 p.m. in former Saratoga Hardware Store, 14445 Big~Basin Way b. Left over Baxer shorts from the 1990 Music Fest must re sold, $10 each, commissioners sign up to sell c. Youth Commission is selling 1992 Entertainment Baaks at $35.00 each d. A special endowment fund has been set-up far the Yauth Commission. All donations will go into this fund. Money will be used for Warner Hutton and its activities. An adult task force is forming to direct endowment fund establishment. 2. Merchants bn~~er~e are being sent to businesses to solicit job ani~,t>uncements 3. Music - None 4. Outdoor Recreation Committee Will do Yosemite again, planning 2-day ski trip - researching mare trips and ongoing activities: trail building, hikes, river rafting, bungee jumping, etc. 1 f ~ . 5. Public Recreations Committee a. Meeting didn"t happen b. Chris suggested Blood Drive, Fabric Drive c. Beverly suggested PR committee apply for CPRS statF award for Music Felt. 6. Darzr_e Committee Dance is Jan. 10, 1992, "Midnight CroovF DarEce" $4 advancF, $5 at the door, all Saratoga middle schools and jr. high students welcome DJ dancing, thinking about having live band do short sets 7. Teen Recreation a. Will do Saturday Night Live again "Lock-ire" b. Researching short local trips for younger kids: Tech center. etc, c. Teen trips to Santa Cruz not Boardwalk - but S.C. Mystery etC. r1. Recreation Dept. has teen trips set up - Espirit, Feb. 8, $19. Sharks March 8, $34 8. Warner Hutton House Committee a. Took tour, reviewed budget, building plans, and landscape plans b. Next meeting Monday, Nov. 25 at 7:15 p.m. C. Committee Announcement All committees need to turn-in 1992r y Dec. 9, goals sho~~ld be measurable D. 1994 Survey Results - Raquel Armijo Cristina Armijo gave report for Raquel 1. Only 50% of commissioners responded 2. Clear application response 3. 33% experienced intimidation 4. 50% didn"t know how to join 5. Applir_ation process with prepaid speech was positive 6. Arts involvement should be expanded 7. Continue rotating chairs 8. More event advertising needed 9. Interviews for application positive E. Spoke on Halloween incident Challenged Youth Commission to come up with alternative activity next year 2. Lengthy discussion about ways to improve relations between teens and sheriff departments. - off duty officers get involved in Youth Commission activities - work at dances, on committees, etc. 2 LY~ dSli A.
