October 17, 1974 As requested by the Commission, we will spend the majority of this meeting studying the Subdivision Ordinance and Park Bond Issue possibilities. The only other item to be discussed will be a report on the meeting held by the Foothill Family-Faculty Club, regarding development of an outdoor education area. To keep you informed on Brookglen Park, a necessary revision of the irriga- tion system was made due to the reduced supply of water available. Please see the attached memo. At their October 16 meeting the Council approved the change. Fortunately, only $2,115 had been spent on the fence building project of the $2,650 allocated, so we did not have to request additional funds. This still leaves us with $160.00 toward materials for a picnic table, and the Park Foreman is investigating possibilities. Hope to see you all Sunday at Gardiner Park Dedication at 1:00 p,m. October 11, 1974 The irrigation system of Brookglen Park has been revised due to a lesser supply of water available than originally estimated. We have two separate 1" water lines coming into the park and the plan was to interconnect before metering which would have given us the equivalent of a 12" line. San Jose Water Works has required that both lines be metered and check valves installed before inter- connect which has reduced our flow below that required for efficient operation of the system. • The architect ha being a decrease heads and amount clock will still stations instead s worked with the contractor to revise the system, the result in size of sprinkler heads but an increase in the number of of pipe necessary. Our presently planned 10 station control be able to handle the system although we will be using 9 of the 6 originally planned. The cost of the revision is $375.00 as submitted in a letter from the contractor to the architect, copy attached. Our only other alternative would be to bring in a 2" line from the main line, which would require digging up the street and a cost in the area of $1,000. The requested change order will not increase the total cost of the project, the funds can be taken from those allocated for fence materials. Therefore,. I request that change order ~kl for Brookglen Park be approved, and the amount of $375.00 be added to the contract of Palo Alto Landscaping.
