RESOLUTION CALLING SPECIAL ELECTION
The City Council of the City of Saratoga hereby resolves as follows:
SECTION 1: Pursuant to Elections Code section 9709 of the State of California,
a special election is hereby called in and for the City of Saratoga
to be held on October 10, 1961, at which time the following measures and
propositions will be voted on by the electors in said city:
Shall the City of Saratoga employ every reasonable YES C'q
effort to effect the widening of State Route 114
(Highway ~9) within its limits to two traffic
lanes with shoulders? NO ~
Shall the City of Saratoga employ every reasonable YES ~']
effort to effect the widening of State Route 114
(Highway ~9) within its limits to four traffic
lanes with shoulders? NO
SECTION 2: Said election shall be held and conducted in accord with Chapter
2~ Part 2 of Division XI of the Elections Code of the State of
California.
The City Clerk is hereby directed to comply with all applicable
provisions of the above Chapter relating to special elections
on measures~ and to set a date prior to such election after which no
arguments for or against either of said measures may be submitted for
printing and distribution.
The above and foregoing resolution was duly and regularly
introduced and passed by the City Council of the City of Saratoga at a
regular meeting held on the 2nd day of August, 1961, by the following
vote:
AYES: Glennon, Drake, Langwill, Hartman
NOES: None
ABSENT: Brazil
