TO THE ESTABLISHMEIqT OF A NEW COUNTY HIGHWAY
PARTLY WITHIN THE CITY OF SARATOGA TO BE A
BREAS, the Board of Supervisors of the County of Santa Clara
adopted a resolution on September 18, 1961, determining that a new County
highway be laid out, acquired, constructed, and maintained within the
City of Saratoga between Prospect Road and Saratoga Avenue, and request-
ing the City of Saratoga to approve the route and consent to the estab-
lishment of the new County highway as a portion of the LawrenCe Expressway.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
Of Saratoga, acting pursuant to the authority of Article 5 (conm~ancing
with Section 1720), Cha~t;e~ 9, Division 2, of the Streets and Highways
Code, that the City of Saratoga does hereby approve the route and consent
to the establishment by the County of Santa Clara of a County highway
within the city of Saratoga between Prospect Road and Saratoga Avenue at
the location shown on Exhibit A attached to the resolution of the Board
of Supervisors, dated September 18, 1961, such route to be a portion of
the LawreX~ce Expressway~
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Saratoga has consented
to the establishment of the new Count~ highway herein described with
the ur~terstanding that the County will not ca~nence acquisition of pro-
perry for this portion of the lawrence E~essway, except for property
acquisition of an ~genc~ nature, until ~ City Council has received
from the Count3[ a~d it has approved Const~tion plans for this portion
of the Lawrence Express~.
BE IT F~RTHSR ~SOLVSD that the Clerk of the City Council is
hereby directed to' file ~, certified copies Of this resolution with the
Soard o~ :Supervisors of Santa Clara Ccunt~.l
