THE CITY COUNCIL
of the
CITY OF SARATOGA
RESOLUTION CREATING CIVIC CENTER IMPROVEMENT FUND
WHEREAS, pursuant to Ordinance No. 35, approving the
budget for the City of Saratoga for the fiscal year 1963-1964,
the City Council indicated ]t intended creating a special fund
from general fund unappropriated surplus for the construction
of Unit No. 2, the Civic Center Council Chamber, and
WHEREAS, there presently is in the City's general
fund, and being Fund No. 21, well in excess of $160,000.00
of unappropriated surplus, which will not be necessary to
be used for the support of the Departments of the City of
for the current year or to pay any bonded or other
indebtedness of said City,
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the City
Council of the City of Saratoga as follows:
Section 1. There is hereby created a special fund
of the City of Saratoga, to be known as the"Civic Center
Improvement Fund" which shall hereafter be designated as
Fund. No. 91 of this City.
Section 2. The City Clerk-Administrator is hereby
authorized and directed to transfer the sum of $160,000.00
from unappropriated surplus in the general fund reserve, and
being Fund No. 21, to the Civic Center Improvement Fund, and
being Fund No. 91.
Section 3. The aforesaid sum of $160,000.00, from
the aforesaid Civic Center Improvement Fund, after transfer
to the same, is hereby ordered appropriated for expenditures
in the current fiscal year, or such part of the same as nmy
be necessary, for the erection and construction of a civic
center council chamber, and being Unit No. 2 of the City's
'plan for expansion of its Civic Center site.
Section 4. The above set forth special fund does
not constitute a capital outlay fund within the terms and
meaning of Article IV, Chapter 4, Part 1, Division 2, of
Title 5 of the government code of the State of California.
Section 5. It is hereby declared that it is the
policy of this City that no income or revenue of the City
of Saratoga for the fiscal year 1963-1964 shall be added
to the above set forth Civic Center Improvement Fund unless
such income and revenue as may be added would be in excess
of all other indebtedness and liability of the City of
Saratoga for the current fiscal year.
The above and foregoing resolution was Ipassed and
adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of the
City of Saratoga on the day of , 1963,
