I!!i~a l',.erehy resolves as follows: Section 1: Con~nencing with the fiscal year and for each fiscal year tt~ereafter untzil changed by resolution, the compensation for the City Attorney shall be as follows: (A) BASIC RETAINER .~"~D SERVICES CO~tvlED: The sum of $8,500.00 per year, payab].e at tl:e rate of $708.00 'per month (with any accrued unpaid balance 'payable with the !as t pa'J~nent of each fiscal ~e~r), to cover the follo~in? services: Attendance at two Council meetin~==iz~s per month; Attendance at City Offices t~.~o aften;':~oon.~ per menth.,:.=~r~o~ such days as a~l~reed upen bet~een the City Attorney and the City Administratc~r of ordinances, resolutions, con- tracts and agreements, the ren. dering of o'pinions, general discussions on city business answarin~ various legal questions of the citizenry on ~ty business, and prosecution of cri~nal cases. (B) ~DITIONAL SERVICES: In addition to the foregoing, compensation shall be paid '~for the following services, to be temed additional services, at the following rates: (1) For all special studies and reports, liaison work, meeting with public groups on city business, negotiations on contract~ or other mtters on behalf of the city, organization of assessment and other special districts, and prosecution and defense of civil actions, at the rate of $20.00 per hour for all no'n-court work and at the Santa Clara County Bar Association r~nimum bar fees for all court ~ork.. (2) For appearance at any regular or special Planning Con~ission or Council xnee'tin~M[~%s in excess of that covered by the basic retaixner, at the rate of $20.00 per hour save and that in no event shall. tb.e fee for ar'z~y suck 'meetinf~ be excess of $60.00, re.:E3l!i2ard!ess. the length of said n~.eeting. -1- Section 2: All office expenses, including supplies, travel time and other sl'.nall be covered. by and. included in t:l::le above :fees. Section 3: Tt'l.e City ,~,,ttorney may appoint one or rc~ore De'puty City Attorneys to carry out any of the above set forth functions, but the City Att.orney shall be directly responsible to tl:'ke Ci't:[.~' for the satisfactory 'perfo~nce of the same, and he shall be responsible to any such Deputy or Deputies for all paS~ent of their fees and char.~es out of and from the above set forth compensation of the City ..Attorney.
