RESOLUTION NO. 237
A RESOLUTION CALLING FOR SEALED PROPOSALS
THELMA AVENUE AREA ASSESSMENT DISTRICT
RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Sara.toga~ California~
that
WHEREAS, the said Council did on the 16th day of December~ 19643
adopt its Resolution of Intention No. 219 to order the grading and
construction of curbs~ gutters~ pavement~ storm drain pipes~ manholes~
catch basins and appurtenances~ as requireda in said City~ all a.s more
particularly described and set forth in said Resolution of Insention~
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Clerk of this City is hereby directed to
publish once a week for two weeks in the Saratoga News~ a newspaper
published and circulated in said City, a notice inviting sealed pro-
posals or bids for the construction of said improvements~ and referring
to the plans and specifications on file in the office of said Clerk,
the first of which publications shall be at least fourteen days prior
to the time fixed for opening bids.
All proposals or bids shall be accompanied by s cashier's or certi-
fied check payable to the order of the City amounting to 10% of the
bid, or by a bond in said amount and payable to said City signed by
the bidder and a corporate surety or by the bidder and two sureties
who shall justify before any officer competent to administer an oath~
in double said amount and over and above all statutory exemptions.
Said check shall be forfeited or said bond shall become payable to
said City in case the bidder depositing the same does not~ within
fifteen days after written notice that the contract has been awarded
to him, enter into a contract with the City.
Said sealed proposals or bids shall be delivered to the City
Clerk of this City on or before 3:00 o'clock P. M. on May 28~h 1965,
said time being not less than fourteen days Fom the time of the first
publication of said notice. Bids will be publicly opened~ examined
and declared on said day and hour~ and referred to and considered by
the Council at its meeting at 8:00 o'ctock P. M. on June 2, 1965.
I hereby certify that the foregoing is a full~ true and correct copy
of Resolution duly passed and adopted by the City Council of the City
of Saratoga~ California, at a meeting thereof held on the 21st day of
April, !965~ by the following vote of the members thereof:
