HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 283-A RESOLUTION NO. 283-A RESOLUTION OF INTENTION, STREET LIGHTING ACT OF 1919, QUITO LIGHTING PISTRICT WHEREAS the County of Santa Clara intends to dissolve that certain lighting district known as the Quito Lighting Maintenance District, a portion of which district lies within the City of Saratoga, and this Council deems it necessary to create a new lighting district to be known as the "'Quito Lighting District" for that portion of the former district which lies within the boundaries of this city, and WEEREAS the City Council has heretofore ordered the Clerk of the City of Saratoga to prepare a report in writing pursuant to Streets and Highways Code Sections 18041 and 18161 and at the same time made a determination that the alternate procedure for levying and collecting assessments on an ad valorem basis set forth in Sections 18160 through 18169 of s~id code be followed, and WHEREAS the aforesaid report has been prepared and presented to said City Council and considered by it, and it appearing that public interest and convenience requires the furnishing of electric current for illumination of the street lighting system hereinafter set forth, and that a special assessment district should be created for the same pursuant to the Street Lighting Act of 1919, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESO]iVED AS FOLLOWS: 1. Attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference is the re'port heretofore prepared and considered by the Cit Council ursuant to Streets and Highways Code Sections 1~041 and 1~161, together with a description of the exterior boundaries of the proposed assessment district, -I- and the proposed improvement:." shall be the furnishing of electric current for said street lighting ~stem::~and the maintenance of said street lighting system. 2. The City Council of the City of Saratoga does hereby give notice of intention to order the Maintenance District is dissolved and the Council is in a street lighting system in accord with the Street Lighting Act of 1919, a~d said improvement shall continue thereafter indefi- nitely until such time as said City Council shall terminate the same by resolution. The ~bove=m~.and foregoing resolution was duly and regularly introduced and passed by the City Council of the City of Saratoga at a regular meeting held on the &r/L__ day of =August= , 1965, by the following vote: AYES: Glennon, Tyler, Drake, Hartman, Burry NOES: None ABSENT: None CITY CLERK' -2- August 3,1965 TO: City Council FROM: City Clerk SUBJECT: .Quito Lighting District In accordance with Section 18041 as amended by Section 18161 o{ the Streets and ~|ighways Code there is hereby presented the plans and details o{ the proposed Quito Lighting District which consists of 84 - 4,000 lur, en and 6 - 6,000 Iumen street lights as shown on the attached plat, Exhibit Am which covers that portion of the Santa Clara County .Quito Lighting District lyin~ within the boundaries of the City o~ Saratoga. The area within the proposed district is more particularly described in the attached legal description identified as Exhibit B. The estimated costs of the improvement and service are as follows: 1. Annual cost o~ lighting service - $3884.40 2. Other expenditures a) Legal ~ees 250. O0 b) Engineering Costs 100.
