IfliEREAS, there has been an unusuaE and rapid population growth
Santa Clara County since the 1960 Federal Census; and
~B~AS, population estimates can no lo~er be used by cities re-
questin~ cer~ification for State subveutions this year, it is recoSnized
that an ~tual population count ms= be taken at this ti~; and
~S, populati~ and housi~ data useful for future decisio~tn~
are urgently needed by all level~ of local 8overnmnt~ service orSanizations,
and businesses within the Gouty, the ~unty of Santa Clara, in cooperation
with all of the 16 cities within the ~unty~ will condor "Countd~ 66",
a special count~ide census startin~ ~rch 21, 1966.
N~, ~EREF0~ BE IT ~SOLVED that in order to prow~e public awareness
aM cooperation with this wo~hy effort~ ~e ~ek of ~ch 21st through
~ 28, 1966, be kn~ as "Couutd~
