A RESOLUTION OF T}=~ CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SARATOCA DECLARING
ITS SUPPORT FOR THE $21,500,000 BOND ISSUE TO BE PRESENTED TO ~]E
VOTERS OF T[~ WEST VALLEY JUNIOR COLLEGE DISTRICT BY THE GOVERNING
BOARD OF THE DISTRICT AT THE GENERAL ELECTION OF NOVEMBER 8, 1966.
~]tREAS, the Governing Board of the Nest Valley Junior College District has declared
its intention in a resolution adopted August 18, 1966 to construct its first
permanent campus in Santa Clara; and
~[EREAS, in that same resolution the Governing Board expressed its need for, and its
intention to acquire, two additional sitesi one for the Santa Clara campus
and one in the Campbell High School District; and
WHEREAS, the Governing Board further declared its intention in that resolution to
apply its authorized Entitlement II funds to the construction of the Santa
Clara campus; and
WHEREAS, the Governing Board of the district has determined that the sum of $21,500,000
in bond funds will be required to accomplish this land acquisition and con-
struction program and has scheduled a Bond Election in that amount to be
consolidated with the General Election of November 8, 1966; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Saratoga believes that this construction and
financing program will be of material benefit to residents of Saratoga both
as citizens of the District and citizens of Saratoga;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Saratoga that it
hereby expresses its support of the proposed bond issue and urges the citizens
of Saratoga to support it at the polls on November 8, 1966.
The above and foregoing resolution was duly and r~gularly passed and
adopted by the City Council of the City of Saratoga at a regular meeting held
on the 7th day of September, 1966, by the following vote:
AYES: Burry, Robbins, Tyler
NOES: None
ABSENT: Glennon, Hartman
