RESOLUTION NO. ~17
A RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION N0. 344 ENTITLED
"A RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO ACQUIRE AND CONSTRUCT
IMPROVEMENTS"
VERDE VISTA IMPROVEMENT PROJECT
RESOLVED~ by the City Council of the City of Saratoga,
California, as follows:
.,RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Saratoga,
California, that Resolution No. 344 entitled "A Resolution of
Intention to Acquire and Construct Improvements" adopted by
this Council on October 19, 1966, be and the same is hereby
amended, ss follows:
1. That Section I of said Resolution be amended to read
as follows:
"l(a) The acquisition of property necessary for the
opening of a new half street in and along that certain private
road known as Verde Vista Lane from Highway 85, running thence
westerly at right angles 1000 feet, more or less, and the
improvement thereof by clearing, grubbing, grading and the
removal of existing trees, shrubs and structures and the
construction therein of base, pavement, curbs, gutters and
surface and subsurface storm drainage facilities where
necessary, together with all appurtenances thereto.
"(b) The acquisition of property necessary for the
opening of a new half street in and along the southerly side
of that certain private road known as Verde Vista Lane from
Highway 85, running thence westerly at right angles 1800
feet, more or less, and the improvement thereof by clearing,
grubbing~ grading and the removal of existing trees, shrubs
and structures and the construction therein of base, pavement,
curbs, gutters, sidewalks, where required, and surface and
subsurface storm drainage facilities where necessary, together
with all appurtenances thereto.
"(c) The acquisition of all lands and easements and
the performing of all work auxiliary to any of the above
necessary to complete the same.
2. That Section 9 of said Resolution be amended to read
as follows:
I'9. Said contemplated acquisitions and improvements,
in the opinion of said Council, are of more than local or ordinary
public benefit, and the costs and expenses thereof are made charge-
able upon sn assessment district, the exterior boundaries of which
district are the composite and consolidated ares as more particularly
shown on a map thereof on file in the office of the City Clerk, to
which reference is hereby msde for further particulsrso Ssld msp
indicstes by s boundary line the extent of the territory included
in the proposed district and shsll govern for all details as to the
extent of the assessment district
S. That Section 16 be added to said Resolution reading as
follows:
"16. Notice is hereby given thst, in the opinion of the
Councils the public interest will not be served bF allowing the
property owners to take the contract for the construction of the
improvements and that# pursuant to Section 10502.4 of the Streets
and Highways Codes no notice of award of contract shall be published.
4. That Section 17 be added to said Resolution reading as
follows:
"17. The estimated cost of said project is
of which the Cit~ will contribute the estimated amount of
$_ 4Z,OOO
........................ , leaving an estimated balance of $ _ 82_,o0o_
to be assessed"

Council of the City of Saratoga, California, at a meeting thereof
