HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 430 RESOLUTION NO. 430 RESOLUTION ADOPTING SARATOGA GENERAL PLAN, 1968, FOR THE CITY OF SARATOGA WHEREAS, pursuant to study and recommendation by the Citizen's Committee for General Plan Review, Livingston and Blayney, Planning Consultant, with the assistance of the Saratoga Planning Department, prepared the Pro- posed Saratoga General Plan, 1968, and WHEREAS~ the Proposed Saratoga General Plan, 1968, has undergone extensive analysis by the Saratoga Planning Commission and has been the subject of public hearing before said planning commission as required by law, and WHEREAS, the Saratoga Planning Con~nission on February 26, 1968, recommended adopt- ion of the Proposed Saratoga General Plan, 1968, as the Saratoga General Plan, 1968, subject to the modifications proposed in the General Plan Committee Report adopted by the Planning Commission on February 26, 1968, and WHEREAS, the Saratoga Planning Commission, upon subsequent direction of the City Council, restudied specific segments of the Proposed Saratoga General Plan, 1968~ and has recomnended further modifications as contained in General Plan Committee reports of April 8, 1968, adopted by the Planning Commission on April 8, 1968, and of April 22, 1968, adopted by the Plan- ning Commission April 22, 1968, and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Saratoga has held a public hearing on the Proposed Saratoga General Plan, 1968, as modified by the Saratoga Planning Commission, and WHEREAS, the City Council has studied the Proposed Saratoga General Plan, 1968, as modified by the Saratoga Planning Commission; the testimony, both written and oral presented at said public hearing; and the modifications reconnnended in the reports adopted by the Saratoga Planning Commission, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT the City Council of the City of Saratoga approves the Proposed Saratoga General Plan, 1968, with modifications recommended by the Planning Commission~ subject to the following changes: (1) ReVOcation of Herriman Avenue extension to intersect Fruitvale Avenue south of Redwood School. (2) Modification of the Community park to con- sist of approximately 7 acres a~ the SaratogazAvenue-Fruitvale Avenue intersection connected by a corridor along Wildcat Creek with additional park area adjacent to Redwood School and the future K-6 school adjacent to Redwood School which will provide a park development compatible with the adjoining school and Youth Center facilities. (3) Revision of the proposed statement of annexation to read as follows: It is recommended that the city embark on an annexation program of lands to the south and west of the present city limits in order to gain adequate control over the development of these lands unless the city can enter into agreements with the county and adjoining jurisdictions to prezone these lands into a zoning compatible with the low density single family residential goals of Saratogs." (4) DeletiOn~ of reference to annexation of Westbrook. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said proposed Saratoga General Plan revised in accord with the preceding paragraph is hereby adopted as the Saratoga General Plan, 1968. The above and foregoing resolution was duly and regularly introduced and passed at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Saratoga held on the 1st day of May, 1968, by the following vote: AYES: Councilmen Hartman, Robbins, Smith, Ty e , NOES: None !,.
