RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF APPLICA-
TION WITH LOCAL AGENCY FORMATION FOR ANNEXA-
TION OF CONGRESS SPRINGS AREA TO CITY OF SAR-
ATO~Ao
WHEREAS, County Sanitation District No. 4 is proposing an annexation
designated as Congress Springs Annexation which would annex to the District
124t~0 Acres west of the City of Saratoga; and
WHEREAS, development of this area will have a major impact on the
City of Saratoga and its environment from the standpoint of traffic,
law enforcement, fire protection, sanitation, watershed protection, storm
drainage and flood control, and conservation of the aesthetic values of
the wooded slopes;
WHEREAS, the City of Saratoga is in a position to provide basic
municipal services essential to the orderly development of the area such
as planning, zoning administration, building inspection, law enforcement,
solid waste disposal, storm drainage control, road and street maintenance,
and other services on demand from citizens of the area willing to pay for
service required.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Saratoga authorizes the filing of application with the Local Agency Formation
Commission for annexation of Congress Springs Area to the City of Saratoga;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Saratoga
does hereby request the LOCAL AGENCY FORMATION COMMISSION to require comple-
tion of the annexation to the City of Saratoga of the area in Congress Springs
Annexation as a condition of approval of Congress Springs Annexation to County
Sanitati~ District No. 4.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Saratoga
will support and assist in the conduct of any studies designed to assist
the Local Agency Formation Commission in arriving at a decision on this
matter.
