RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING STUDY OF
SALARY AND SALARY RANGES
The City Council of the City of Saratoga hereby resolves as follows:
1. The City Administrator shall promptly conduct a study covering
each City of Saratoga position classification to determine salaries and
salary ranges presently paid, and anticipated to be paid during the coming
fiscal year, for comparable positions by the following cities: Campbell,
Cupertino, Los Altos, Los Gatos, Milpitas, Mt. View, Palo Alto, San Jose,
Santa Clara and Sunnyvale.
2. Said study shall include an evaluation of the relationships be-
tween the salaries and the job qualifications, content, scope and respon-
sibilities of the positions so compared.
3. On or before June 30, 1969 the City Administrator shall recommend
to the City Council Management Committee the salaries and salary ranges
that should be established for the coming £iscal year for all City of
Saratoga positions in order to provide salaries substantially equal to
the mean (or median) of salaries anticipated to be paid during the coming
fiscal year by such other cities or similar positions, proper allowances
being made for differences in job qualifications, content, scope and re-
sponsibilities.
The above and foregoing resolution was duly and regularly introduced
and passed by the City Council of the City of Saratoga at a regular meeting
held on the 4th day of June, 1969, by the following vote:
AYES: Councilman Tyler, Robbins, Dwyer, Sanders, Smith
