HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 523 RESOLUTION NO. 523 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SARATOGA , URGING THE SANTA CLARA COUNTY INTER-CITY COUNCIL TO CO- ORDINATE EFFORTS TOWARD COUNTY-WIDE UNIFORMITY OF CON- STRUCTION CODES WHEREAS, the County of Santa Clara is rapidly becoming urbanized and it is highly desirable that all new construction comply with modern health and safety standards, and WHEREAS, those involved with the actual construction of our communities frequently build in more than one jurisdiction within the county, and WHEREAS, it is highly desirable that all jurisdictions within the county adopt basically uniform codes both for safety and builder convenience reasons. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Saratoga hereby urges the Inter-City Council to coordinate efforts toward: A. The mutual adoption of basically consistent construction codes by all enforcement agencies in Santa Clara County, and B. The establishment of realistic timetables by which the individual jurisdictions should consider and adopt newly published uniform codes. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Saratoga ! herBy supports the Inter-City Council in this activity and announces its intention to give prompt and continuing attention to uniform code proposals so as to accomplish the goals of this program. The above and foregoing resolution was duly and regularly introduced at a regular meeting held on the 18th day of February, 1970, by the following vote: AYES: Councilmen Tyler, Dwyer, Robbins, Smith, Sanders NOES: None ABSENT: None MAYOR ATTEST: .l ........
