A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SARATOGA HONORING
KEVIN P. MORAN
WHEREAS, KEVIN P. MORAN while a student at the University of California
at Santa Barbara, did respond to an appeal for student support in opposition
to violence and arson; and
WHEREAS, KEVIN P. MORANdid act positively in opposition to the violence
threatening the college community; and
WHEREAS, KEVIN P. MORGAN gave his life in his action to protect the com-
munity;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Saratoga
that all Saratogans and all other citizens be urged to remember Kevin P. Moran
for his willingness to translate his beliefs into action; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council appeals to each citizen to
dedicate himself to eliminating such violence as that which ended in the tragic
loss of Kevin P. Moran; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this City Council, on behalf of the entire
community, extends heartfelt sympathy to the Moran family in this time of deep
sorrow over the loss of Kevin from the family circle.
The above and foregoing resolution was passed and adopted at a regular
meeting of the City Council of the City of Saratoga held on the 21st day of
April, 1970, by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmen Tyler, Dwyer, Robbins, Smith, Sanders
NOES: None
ABSENT: None ....
