A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SARATOGA
AMENDING THE PROCEDURE FOR RECOGNITION OF EMPLOYEE
ORGANIZATIONS
The City Council of the City of Saratoga hereby resolves as follows:
Section 1: Section I.A.1. of Resolution 489 is amended to read as follows:
An organization shall be recognized for purposes of meeting and conferring in
good faith upon the determination that that organization represents a majority of
the employees in an appropriate unit.
Section 2: Section I.A.3. of Resolution 489 is amended to read as follows:
The City Manager shall determine whether the employee organization claiming
to represent the employees of an appropriate unit does so in fact on a majority
basis. This may be done by arranging for a secret ballot election among the
employees or by such other method which is designed to demonstrate the free
choice of the employees.
Section 3: Section I.A.4. of Resolution 489 is amended to read as follows:
When the organization is determined to represent the majority of employees
in the appropriate unit~ as indicated above~ the City of Saratoga shall extend
recognition to it for purposes of meeting and conferring in good faith on matters
of employer-employee relations.
Section 4: All references to City Administrator in Resolution No. 489
are amended to read City Manager.
The above and foregoing resolution was duly and regularly introduced and
adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council, City of Saratoga held on the
16th day of February~ 1972 by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmen Robbins, Smith, Dwyer, Bridges, Kraus
