WHEREAS, James R. Huff has served the City of Saratoga effectively and loyally
for many years, first as Director of Public Works from 1959 to 1967 and then as
City Manager from 1967 to 1972; and
WHEREAS he served during a period when the City was undergoing a period of.rapid
growth,:ii,,a~nd transition=and saw continuing threats to its future well being; and
WHEREAS, he has earned the affection and respect of the Council, City staff,
residents and all he has worked with; and
WHEREAS, he has never lost his cool and has managed to maintain his sense of
humour throughout many difficult and defying circumstances; and
WHEREAS, he has cooperated fully with the Council, even placing himself in a
position to be sued by said council in the public interest; and
WHEREAS, he has accomplished much and exhibited exemplary traits of character
which, if listed, would make this resolution excessively long;
THEREFORE, the City Council does hereby thank him for his service to the City and
does wish him well in all his future endeavours.
