RESOLUTION URGING THE
RENEWAL OF T~E BASIC TAX RATE
FOR THE SARATOGA SCHOOL DISTRICT
WHEREAS, the question of whether the existing basic tax rate for
the Saratoga School District shall be renewed will be on the election ballot
on November 7th, and
WHEREAS, the current tax rate contains a five-year limitation which
expires July 1, 1973, and
WHEREAS~ it is mandatory that the Saratoga School District confirms
some new tax rate in order to ensure the maintenance of quality education in
Saratoga, and
WHEREAS, the Financial Advisory Committee to the Saratoga School District
recommended to the Board of Trustees that the existing tax rate be maintained
without a limitation on the number of years it would remain in effect,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Saratoga supports the renewal of the basic tax rate for the Saratoga School
District, without a limitation of years, and urges its passage November 7th,
and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this endorsement and support be communicated
to all groups and individuals within the community who are interested in
quality education in the schools.
