RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SARATOGA
CO~R4ENDING MRS. KATI~RiNE DOFFY
WHEREAS, ~lrs. Katherine Duffy has served on the Saratoga Parks and
Recreation Conm~ission since its inception in 1968; and
W}{EREAS, as a Park and Recreation Commissioner, she was instrumental
in getting the Commission functioning as a viable group dedicated to the
preservation of Open Space and development of a parks program for Saratoga, and
WI~REAS, as a former Chairman of the Commission's Trails and Pathways
Committee she was instrumental in getting Saratoga's trail network in the
1968 Saratoga General Plan; and
WI{EREAS, she has recently been elected to the Board of Directors of the
Santa Clara County Regional Park District~ where Kay will continue her
dedicated interest in the Open Space adjacent to Saratoga and continue to
serve the residents of Saratoga in this capacity;
NO~, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Saratoga does hereby acknowledge the community service of Mrs. Katherine Duffy
as a Parks and Recreation Commissioner, extending its appreciation for a job
well don~ and wishing her well as a Regional Parks Director.
The above and foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted by the
City Council of the City of Saratoga at a regular meeting held on the 20th
day of December .... , 1972, by the following vote:
AYES: COunCilmen Smith, Dwyer, ,Bridges, Oiridon and Kraus
