A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SARATOGA ADOPTING A URBAN
SERVICE PLAN ~'OR SARATOGA AND ITS SPHERE OF INFLUENCE
WHEREAS, the City of Saratoga is required by the Santa Clara
County Local Agency Formation Colmission (L.A.F.C.O.) to draft and adopt
a Urban Service Plan for Saratoga'a incorporated area and Sphere of
Influence area; and
WHEREAS, the City had previously submitted Saratoga's Preliminary
Urban Service Plan to Santa Clara County!i ~reviously for review and
study; and
WHEREAS~ it is in the best interest of the City of Saratoga that
a Urban Service Plan indicating a sound balance between urban development
areas and open spaces be adopted as the guideline in the logical, staged
future growth of the City especially related to the provisions of necessary
utilities and services for said growth; and
W'KEREAS, the City Council reviewed several alternative Urban
Service Plans prepared by the Planning Department, and the impact of each
alternaeive upon the environment, policies and goals of the City of Saratoga;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the (1) the City Council of the
City of Saratoga adopt Urban Service Plan "A'r attached as the City's
guideline for all future annexation, and urban development proposals within
Saratoga's Sphere of Influence, (2) the Urban Service Plan be reviewed and
modified,-if necessary, each year by the City Council, and (3) the Urban
Service Plan "A" be forwarded to the Santa Clara County Local Agency Forma-
tion Conmission for its review, adoption, and incorporation into the
County's overall Urban Development and Open Space (U.D~/O.S.) Plan.
Passes and adopted this 17~h day of ...January , 19 73 , by the
Council of the City of Saratoga by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmen Smith, Dwyer, Bridges, Oir~on and
ABSENT: NO~
