RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ACQUISITION
OF ADDITION TO AZULE PARK
The City Council of the City of Saratoga hereby
resolves as follows:
WHEREAS, the City of Saratoga is presently the owner
of a 3.523 acre parcel of real property located contiguous to
the future West Valley Freeway route in the C].ty of Saratoga~
which 'parcel was acquired by this City in December, 197] for
City park purposes, and which is commonly known as Azule
Park, and
WHEREAS, there lies contiguous to said park a triangular
portion of real property consisting of some .799 acres, more
or less, owned by the State of California, and being excess
property of said State not being necessary for the use for
said West Valley Freeway, and the City is desirous of acquir-
ing the same for public park purposes as hereinafter set forth,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: Reference is hereby made to that some .799
triangular ~ar~el of unimproved real property locate contiguous
to and. immediately to the North of Azule Park, and bounded on
the East by the proposed West Valley Freeway right of way and
on the North by the Titus and Langtry Tract, which parcel is
more particularly shown and delineated as Parcel No. 01.3622-01-0]
on the State of California Division of Highways Map dated
January, 1961, and being Drawing No. A-569.12. The City hereby
finds that it is for the advantage and best interests of this
City, and for the common benefit, to acquire said parcel by
purchase from the State of California as hereinafter set fcrth,
.and hereby finds and determines and declares that said real
so acquired, will be used by this City for park
'public purposes only.
Section 2: The City Manager and the City Attorney
of this City are 'hereby authorized and directed to take all
steps necessary to acquire the aforesaid parcel by purchase,
and to pay therefor a sum not in excess of $ 8,000 ,
exclusive of title insurance premiums, escrow costs anc] ~charge~i~;
and other usual and normal costs and expenses of acquisition
of real 'property.

The above and foregoing Resolution was duly and
regularly passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the
City Council of the City of Saratoga, held on the ~_Sth day
of . ~ .S.~ptember., 1973, by the following vote:
