RESOLUTION ORDERING VACATION AND
ABANDONMENT OF A PORTION OF ALLENDALE AVENUE
The City Council of the City of Saratoga hereby resolves as.
follows:
SECTION 1: Pursuant to Chapter 5 of Division 2.5 of the
Streets and Highways Code of the State of
California, the City Council of the City of Saratoga desires
to summarily vacate and abandon a portion of Allendale Avenue
and the City Council makes the following findings, conclusions
and order as hereinafter set forth;
SECTION 2: The City Council finds, from the evidence sub-
mitted, that the hereinafter described portion
of the hereinafter described street is unnecessary for present
or prospective street purposes and the City Council further finds
that said portion of street has been superseded by relocation and
that such abandonment does not cut off access to' the adjoining
property.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council makes the following order:
SECTION 3: The City Council of the City of Saratoga hereby
orders and declares that the following described
portions of Allendale Avenue, to wit:
Portions of that certain street known as Allendale Avenue,
located between Fruitvale Avenue and Harleigh Drive in the
City of Saratoga., County of Santa Clara, State of California,
more particularly described on Exhibit "A" attached hereto
and incorporated herein by reference.
Be and the same is hereby vacated and abandoned, save and except that
there is retained (and not abandoned) a Public Service and Landscaping
Easement over'~nd through the above described property. _
The above and foregoing resolution was passed and adopted by the
City Council of the City of Saratoga at a regular meeting held on
the 21st day of November, 1973, by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmen,. Smith, Dwyer, Bridges, Diridon and Kraus

DESCRIPTION
NORTHERLY PORTION OF ALLEN~ALE AVEN~E TO BE ABANDONED
All that certain real property situate in the City of Saratoga, County
of Santa Clara, State of California, being a portion of that certain
· 5.345 acre tract described in the deed to |Vest Valley Baptist Church,
a California Corporation, recorded in Book 7177 of Official Records at
page 576, Santa Clara County Records, described as follows:
BEGINNING at a point in the centerline of Allendale Avenue, as said
centerline is sho~m on that certain map of Tract No. 3998, filed in
Book 219 of Maps at pages 35 and 36, Santa Clara County Records; said
point bears along said centerline North 89°28'00'' East, 104.82 feet from
the centerline of Fruitvale Avenue; thence from said POINT OF BEGINNING
along said centerline of Allendale Avenue North 89°28'00'' East, 201.29
feet to the northerly line of the realigned Allendale Avenue as shown on
that certain Record of Survey for West Valley Joint Junior College District,
filed in Book 244 of Maps at pages 55 and 56, Santa Clara County Records;
thence from a tangent which bears North 63°22'1Y' East, along a curve to
the right having a radius of 294.31 feet, through a central angle of
11°06'55'' for an arc length of 57.10 feet to a point 20.00 feet, measured
at right angles, northerly from said centerline of Allendale; thence
parallel with said centerline South 89°28'00'' West, 255.02 feet to the
easterly line of Fruitvale Avenue; thence along said easterly line from
a tangent which bears South 3°06'53'' East, along a curve to the right
having a radius of 289.38 feet through a central angle of 2°06'53'' for
an arc length of 10.68 feet; thence South 1°00'00'' East, 9.32 feet to
the POINT OF BEGINNING. ,
