RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SARATOGA
APPROVING THE REQUEST OF THE SARATOGA FIRE DISTRICT
TO CONSOLIDATE ITS MAXIMUMTAXRATE ELECTION WITH
THE CITY'S MUNICIPAL ELECTION ON MARCH 5, 1974
WHEBS, March 5, 1974, is the date set by state law for the regular
municipal election for the City of Saratoga; and
WHEREAS, the Saratoga Fire District has adopted a resolution ordering a
tax increase election and requesting that such election be consolidated with
any other elections being held on the same date; and
WHEREAS, the boundaries of the Saratoga Fire District are wholly within
the City of Saratoga; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the residents of Saratoga to pro-
vide for a consolidated election because it reduces the total cost of such
election to the taxpayer;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Saratoga
as follows:
Section 1. Said request for a consolidated election by the Saratoga
Fire District is hereby approved for March 5, 1974.
Section 2. Said consolidation will result in the holding of one election
conducted by the City of Saratoga, including, but not limited
to, the ballots and the canvassing of the returns of the election.
Section 3. The costs for such a consolidated election shall be borne
equally between the City of Saratoga and the Saratoga
Fire District for those five (5) consolidated precincts.
