RESOLUTION NO. 688
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SARATOGA SUPPORTING
THE 1974 STATE CLEAN WATER BOND ISSUE
WHEREAS, the State of California is now matching seventy-five percent
Federal grants for construction of wastewater treatment facilities with
twelve and one-half percent grants by use of funds from a previously
authorized Clean Water Bond Issue; and
WHEREAS, an additional $250 million Clean Water Bond Issue is needed
to continue the State matching grant program beyond year 1974 for
construction of wastewater treatment facilities essential for the protection
of the water resources of the State of California; and
WHEREAS, the Clean Water Bond Issue will be of special assistance to
the County Sanitation District No. 4 which services the majority of the
homes in the City of Saratoga; and
WHEREAS, the 1974 Clean Water Bond Issue will appear as Proposition 2
on the June 1974 primary ballot;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City
of Saratoga finds that the $250 million 1974 Clean Water Bond Issue merits
the support of this Council and all persons interested in protection of
the State's water resources and does hereby urge its passage at the June
election.
The above and foregoing resolution was passed and adopted by the
City Council of the Cit'y of Saratoga on the 3rd day of April , 1974,
by the following vote:
