A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SARATOGA
COMMENDING THE APPLIED
MATERIAL BEARS SOCCER TEAM
WHEREAS, the American Youth Soccer Organization was formed just 10 years
ago and now encompasses over 30,000 California youths; and
WHEREAS, the Saratoga Applied Material Bears compete in Division Iti,
ages 7 to 9, of said soccer organization; and
WHEREAS, the Bears, led by Forwards: Todd Rafalovich, David Konrad, Matt
McMillan, Michail Champagne, and Jeff Crickson; Halfbacks: Tom Rafalovich,
Alex Federman, Peter Crickson, Mark Day and Casey Cristich; Fullbacks: Scott
Edson, Todd Fitchin, Kevin Milliken, and Scott Jorgensen; and Goalie: Howard
Hold, emerged victorious in Region 27 which enabled them to advance to the state-
wide competition, and triumphed in the Northern California Championship which
put them into the playoffs with Southern California; and
WHEREAS, the Bears culm~inated their perfect season by vanquishing the
Culver City Cowboys 1 to 0 to gain the honor of being the number one team in
California out of 675 other Division III teams;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of
Saratoga does hereby congratulate the members of the Saratoga Applied Material
Bears for their athletic prowess and the acclaim they have brought the City of
Saratoga and does wi~h them success in their future endeavors.
The above and foregoing Resolution was adopted by the City Council of
the City of Saratoga at a ~egular meeting held on the ~th day of May ,
1974, by the following vote:
