A Resolution of the City Council of
the City of Saratoga Requesting Permission
for Temporary Closure of State
Highway on June 27, 1976
WHEREAS, THE Saratoga Fire Department is sponsoring its second Firemans
Muster and Parade in the City of Saratoga; and
WHEREAS, the second Firemans Muster has been scheduled for Saturday,
June 26, 1976 and Sunday, June 27, 1976 corm~encing at 9:30 a.m.; and
WHEREAS, the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office has been advised of the
parade route, and is planning to take the proper traffic control measures to
ensure the safe and expeditious movement of the traffic and oversee the safety
of the participants in the parade; and
WHEREAS, this City Council has, in the past, endorsed the Firemans Muster
and Parade and is aware of the precautionary measures which have been undertaken
and does sanction the second Firemans Muster and Parade;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Saratoga
does hereby request permission of the State Department of Transportation to allow
Big Basin Way (State Highway 9) to be closed to traffic to be detoured on
June 27, 1976 from approximately 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. between the junction of
Highway 9 and Highway 85 and Sixth Street; and to permit the temporary closure
of Highway 85 at Highway 9 as the parade passes through this intersection.
The above and foregoing resolution was passed and adopted by the City Council
of the City of Saratoga at a regular meeting held on the 2]st day of April ,
1976, by the following vote:
