A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SARATOGA APPROVING THE SUBGRANTUNDER CETA
TITLE VI BEIWEEN SANTA CLARA VALLEY EMPLOYMENT AND
MINING BOARD AND THE CITY OF SARATOGA
WHEREAS, the City of Saratoga desires to enter into a contract
between itself and the Santa Clara Valley Employment and Training Board as
a Subgrantee under CETA Title VI for five positions for a total $51,617; and
WHEREAS, the City has reservations about its capacity to perform
certain obligations enumerated in specific passages of the contract, and
further, about the applicability of other sections of the contract;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the City Council of the City of
Saratoga hereby authorizes the Mayor to sign and execute the "Subgrant
under CETA Title VI Public Service Program' between the Santa Clara Valley
Employment and Training Board and the City of Saratoga, subject to the following
qualifications:
(1) It is not within the capacities nor powers of the City to
comply with the obligations and responsibilities outlined in the following
sections:
(a) Article I, Section O (1) (g);
(b) Article I, Section O (3);
(c) Article II, Section J;
(d) Scope of Services, Section P~
(e) Exhibit B, Sections E1 & E2
(2) The following sections are inapplicable to Saratoga due
to the specific nature of the grant and the fact that no subcontracting will
be performed; however, the City would abide by them if this were not the
case:
(a) Article I, Section O (9);
(b) Article I, Section P;
(c) Article I, Section Q;
(d) Article II, Section N;
(e) Article II, Section 0
The above and foregoing resolution was passed and adopted by the
City Council of the City of Saratoga at a regular meeting held on the ]9th
day of May , 1976, by the following vote:
