HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 796 RESOLUTION NO. 796 A Resolution Confirming Canvass by the Registrar of Voters of Santa Clara County of Special Municipal Election Consolidated with the General Election held on November 2, 1976 WHEREAS, the Registrar of Voters of the County of Santa Clara has lly canvassed the votes cast in the City of Saratoga (hereinafter called he "CITY") at the special municipal election consolidated with the ~neral Election held on November 2, 1976, in the City by the electors f the City upon the Measure hereinafter setforth and has certified o this City Council the result of the vote cast as said election, which aid certification is now on file in the office of the City Clerk of the ity; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City f Saratoga has follows: Section 1: The canvass of votes by said Registrar of Voters has ~hown by sa~d certification and the result thereof is hereby confirmed Lnd approved. Section 2: At said election the following amendments to the General ~lan under initiative proceedings were submitted to the electors of the ~ity and the number of votes cast in the City for and against said ~easure was as follows: TOTAL TOTAL Measure (O): Shall an ordinance to modify VOTES YES VOTES NO (Hillside Initiative) the Saratoga General Plan by adding and modifying general standards, policies and land-use criteria for hillside areas, to limit and control allowable dwelling density depending upon slope; establish standards for use of cluster zoning, control grading and construction on faults lines, steep slopes and known unstable soils; establish a low density buffer zone adjacent to hillside areas, and establish standards and criteria for implementation of General Plan standards and criteria in specific plans and in zoning and subdivision ordinances be adopted? 6,827 7,889 Section 3: The total number of votes cast in the City at said special municipai~eiection and the total number of votes given in each pricinct and by absentte voters of the City for and against said measure was and is set for in said canvass. Section 4: Less than a majority of all the votes cast at said special municipal election on said measure were in favor of said measure and said measure failed. Section 5: The City Clerk of the City is hereby instructed to enter this resolution on the minutes of the City Council as a statement of the result of said election.
