A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SARATOGA
ADOPTING AN INTERIM POLICY CONSISTENT
WITH THE COUNTY OF SANTA CLARA'S POLICY
RELATIVE TO THE BOHLMAN ROAD GEOLOGY
STUDY AREA
WHEREAS, it has recently been discovered that certain potentially hazardous geologic
phenomena exist within that area generally referred to as the Bohlman Road Study Area
(Exhibit "A"), and that the probable occuronce of said phenomena necessitates the prep-
aration of a geotechnical report to determine the extent and seriousness of the situa-
zion; and
WHEREAS, the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors in recognition of the situa-
tion and upon the recommendation of their Planning Commission have officially taken the
following action:
1) A comprehensive stud}, of all land movements within 'the prescribed study
area shall be conducted; and that
2) All building site approvals and minor land divisions shall be referred to
the Planning Commission and all building permits for human habitation with-..
held until completion of the study or for a period not to exceed six (6)
months.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Saratoga, in recognition of the
efforts expended by the Santa Clara County Board of Supenrisors and in the interest of
the general health, safety and welfare of the public, hereby endorses the actions and
policies adopted by the Board of Supervisors in addressing the potentially serious
situation. within the Bohlman Ro. ad Study Area, and that the City of Saratoga in concert
with the County of Santa Clara will adopt as interim policy the following:
1) The City of Saratoga will provide data assistance to the County in prepara.-
zion of the study; and
2) All building site approvals and minor land divisions within 'the study area
(Exhibit "A") will be referred to the City Planning Commission, and further,
that all building permits and grading permits within said area shall be
withheld until completion of the Bohlman Road Study or for a period not to
exceed six (6) months; and
3) The above requirements shall not apply nor restrict issuance of properly-
approved permits for normal maintenance and repair on a structure or site.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council, City of Saratoga, State of California,
this 2nd day of March , 1977 by the following vote:
