A Resolution of the City Council of
the City of Saratoga Commending
Norman J. Martin
WHEREAS, Norman J. Martin has served the Saratoga Community as a
member of the Planning Cormnission since May 1970, including his tenure
as Vice-Chairman of the Commission; and
WHEREAS, he has given freely of his time and talents as a member
of several of the sub-conm~ittees on the Planning Commission, most
notably as Chairman of the Variance Con~nittee, a member of the Design
Review Committee, a member of the Subdivision Committee, and a member
of the General Plan Committee; and
WHEREAS, Norm especially distinguished himself on the Variance Comettee
as a Commissioner who treated applicants with the utmost respect and
consideration in effecting a careful balance between the requirements of
the ordinance and the desires of the petitioners; and
WHEREAS, he will be remembered by his fellow commissioners and all
of us on the City Council as an individual who was extremely industrious,
assiduous, and conscientious in the responsibilities he exercised;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of
Saratoga does hereby extend its deep thanks to Norman 3. Martin for the
years he has served on the Saratoga Planning Commission and wishes him
well in his future endeavors.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting Of the City Council of the
City of Saratoga held on the 12th day of April ,
1977, by the following vote:
