HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 815 RESOLUTION NO. 815 A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Saratoga Commending Barbara Sampson WHEREAS, Barbara Sampson has served as the Director of Community Services for the City of Saratoga for the past three and one-half years, in which capacity she oversees the Parks Development and Maintenance programs, the recreation activities off~rred~throp:gh~he.=6~mmuhi=t~=~'zC:ente~, and the Government Buildings functions; and WHEREAS, prior to her affiliation with the City, Miss Sampson worked as Director of Recreation for the City of Mr. View for fifteen years where she supervised a staff of 65 full and part-time employees in 40 different program areas; and WHEREAS, beyond her significant job responsibilities, Barbara's interests extend from her position as Instructor in First Aid for the American Red Cross, Registered Recreator, member of the National Association of Parlimentarians, to her deep involvement with the Business and Professional Women's Club~ and WHEREAS, Miss Sampson will assume the Presidency of the California Federation of Business and Professional Women's Clubs in May 1977, an organization which boasts over 10,00Omembers statewide, and which she has served in several capacities including Peninsula District President (1969-1970), Vice-President and Treasurer, and President of the Mt. View Club; and WHEREAS, in addition to her numerous accomplishments noted above, Barbara has impressed all of us who have come to know her as a sincere, corrEaitted, forceful and highly dedicated individual who possesses an infectious personality with a quick sense of humor. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED ~hat the City Council of the City of Saratoga does hereby extend its congratulations to Barbara Sampson for her election as President of the California Federation of Business and Professional Womenrs Clubs and heartily commends her for her contributions to our community both in the past and in the years to come. The above and foregoing resolution was passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of Saratoga at a regular meeting held on the 20th day of April , 1977, by the following vote: AYES: CounciJmen Bridges, Brigham, Kraus, Corr & Motteoni NOES: None AB SENT: NoM.
