HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 868 RESOLUTION NO. 868 A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Saratoga Requesting Permission for Temporary Closure of State Highways on September 16, 1978 WHEREAS, the Saratoga Festival and Parade Con~nittee has yearly sponsored the Annual Fall Festival and Parade in the City of Saratoga for the past eleven years; and WHEREAS, the 13th Annual Fall Festival and Parade has been scheduled for Saturday, September 16, 1978, commencing at 11:00 A.M.; and WHEREAS, the Santa Clara County Sheriff's office has been advised of the parade route, and is planning to take the proper traffic control measures to ensure the safe and expeditious movement of the traffic and oversee the safety of the participants in the parade; and WHEREAS, this City Council has annually endorsed the Fall Festival and Parade and is aware of the precautionary measures that have been undertaken and does sanction the 13th Annual Fall Festival and Parade; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Saratoga does hereby request permission of the State Department of Transportation to allow Big Basin Way (State Highway 9) to be closed and traffic to be detoured on September 16, 1978, from approximately 10:30 A.M. to 1:30 P.M. between the junction of Highway 9 and Highway 85 and Fourth Street and to permit temporary closure of Highway 85 at Highway 9 as the parade passes through this intersection. The above and foregoing resolution was passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of Saratoga at a regular meeting held on the 2nd day of _ August _ , 1978, by the following vote: AYES: Councilmen Krmus~ Matteoni, Corr, & Kalb NOES: None ABSENT: Councilwoman Callon ATTE ST: ACTING CLERK
