HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 949 RESOLUTION 949 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF AN APPLICATION WITH THE METROPOLITAN TRANSPORTATION CŒ1MISSION FOR ALLOCATION OF TRANSPORTATION DEVELOP~ŒNT ACT FUNDS FOR FISCAL YEAR 1979-80 vffiEREAS, the Transportation Development Act of 1971 provides for the disbursement of funds from the Local TransDortation Fund of . the County of Santa Clara for use by eligible claimants for the purpose of community transit services projects; and WHEP~AS, pursuant to the rules and regulations that have been adopted by the Secretary of the Business and Transportation Agency of the State of California in accordance with the provisions of the aforementioned legislation, an eligible claimant wishing to receive an allocation from the Local Transportation Fund shall file its application with the appropriate transportation planning agency; and WHEREAS, funds from the Local Transportation Fund will be required to continue the operation of a cooperative Community Transit Program between the Town of Los Gatos and the City of Saratoga; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Saratoga that Henry J. Kraus, Hayor, is authorized to execute and file an appropriate claim pursuant to the terms of the Transportation Development Act of 1971, as amended, and pursuant to applicable rules and regulations promulgated thereunder, together with all necessary supporting documents with the Metropolitan Transportation Commission for fiscal year 1980-81 Transportation Development Act monies; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be transmitted to the Metropolitan Transportation Commission in conjunction with the filing of the claim; and the Metropolitan Transportation Commission be requested to concur in these findings and grant the allocations of funds as specified herein.
