HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 967 RESOLUTION NO. 967 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SARATOGA REQUESTING PERMISSION FOR TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF STATE HIGHWAYS ON SEPTEMBER 21, 1980 WHEREAS, the Saratoga Festival and Parade Committee has yearly sponsored the Annual Fall Festival and Parade in the City of Saratoga for the past thirteen years; and WHEREAS, the 15th Annual Fall Festival and Parade has been scheduled for Sunday, September 21, 1980, commencing at 2:00 P.M, and WHEREAS, the Santa Clara County Sheriff1s office has been advised of the parade route, and is planning to take the proper traffic control measures to ensure the safe and expeditious movement of the traffic and oversee the safety of the participants in the parade; and WHEREAS, this City Council has annually endoresed the Fall Festival and Parade and is aware of the precautionary measures that have been undertaken and does sanction the 15th Annual Fall Festival and Parade; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Saratoga does hereby request penmission of the State Department of Transportation to allow Big Basin Way (State Highway 9) to be closed and traffic to be detoured on September 21, 1980, from approximately 1:30 P,M. to 3:30 P.M. between the junction of Highway 9 and Highway 85 and Fourth Street and to permit temporary closure of Highway 85 at Highway 9 as the parade passes through this intersection. The above and foregoing resolution was passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of Saratoga at a regular meeting held on the 6th day of August , 1980, by the following vote: AYES: NOES: ABSENT: ;/'/ ~ ~
