ENDORSING THE WATER CONSERVATION KIT INSTALLATION
PROGRAM AND PROCLAIMING SANTA CLARA VALLEY WATER
CONSERVATION WEEK
WHEREAS, the citizens of the City of Saratoga will be receiving
free water conservation kits May 18-20, 1981, which, when installed,
can save a household $30 to $75 per year on utility bills; and
WHEREAS, the State Department of Water Resources, Santa Clara
Valley Water District, the City of Saratoga and Santa Clara Valley
water suppliers are cooperating in this project in order to save our
limited water and energy resources; and
WHEREAS, all the costs of this project to the public can be re-
covered in 100 days after installation of conservation kits; and
WHEREAS, the State Department of Water Resources, Santa Clara
Valley Water District and the Office of the County Superintendent of
Schools have a long-term commitment to teaching water conservation
in our schools;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that this Council does hereby
endorse and support said conservation efforts, and further does
hereby
RESOLVE AND PROCLAIM that the week of May 18, 1981, be known as
Santa Clara Valley Water Conservation Week.
Passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of Saratoga
this 20th day of May. , 1981, by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmembers Clevenger, Jensen, Mallory, Watson, Mayor Callon
