HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1020 RESOLUTION NO.1020 A RESOLUTION OF ~HE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SARATOGA ESTABLISHING AN AD HOC ~TEEE TO CONSIDER A PROPOSED HERITAGE CONSERVATION ORDINANCE WHEREAS, the City of Saratoga c~ntains several historically significant structures and sites; and, M~J~2~g, present national and state policies encourage the preservation of historically significant structures and protect our cultural heritage through a variety of prograns; and, WHEREAS, programs offering financial incentives to private owners for preserving and enhancing significant sites and buildings would be available within Saratoga if the City adopts a qualifying ordinance; and, EREAS, the City Council believes that conservation and preservation of our historic and cultural heritage ~3uld be beneficial to the cc~munity and is in the public interest; therefore, the City Council has had a pro- posed ordinance prepared that would q~)_8]ify the citizens to participate in programs and enable the City to preserve and protect the ~ity's histor- ical resources NCW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT: 1. The City Cou~%cil ~urages public review and cc~ment on the pro- posed Heritage Conservation Ordinance; and for that purpose, 2. An ad hoc citizens review cc~ttee is hereby established to review the proposed ordinance to prepare cc~ments and recommendations there- on, and to report its findings and conclusions back to the City Council by August 19, 1981; and, 3. The ad hoc ccmmnittee shall include the following members and representatives: ' Carol Connors Mark Ebner ' Vince Garrod Steve Hall Marjorie Hatcher John Kahle Willys Peck Eugene Zambetti The above and foregoing resolution Ms duly and regularly introduced and passed by the City Council of the City of Saratoga at a regular meeting held on the 17th day of June , 1981 , by the following vote: AYES: Counciln]~mbers Clevenger, Jensen, Mallory, Watson, Mayor Callon NOES: None Mayor ATEEST: City Clerk
