RESOLUTION NO. 1027
k RESOLbTIGN OF THE (DLNCIL OF THE CITY OF E ZN EION
OF THE ViatIED (3~B~3EI(INS OF S~ ~T.T~ ~ ~ ~ T~
MEREAS, Shenmin Miller founded the Saratoga News, which has furnished residents
of Saratoga with timely information and entertairment since September 1, 1955; and,
W}~AS, Mr. Miller served as editor of the Saratoga News for many years and
mined active as a contributor ~mtil his death on August 9, 1981, skillfully blending
articles of all tyFes with photographic coverage to produce a newsy, bright, and help-
ful newspaper; and,
WPEREAS, he ~ one of the leaders in the movenent for incorporation of the City
of Saratoga on October 22, 1956; and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Miller was for many years well known to Councilmembers and City staff
as one who maintained a lively interest in City affairs; and,
WHEREAS, he will be greatly missed by Councilmenk~rs and staff as a friend and
associate.
NOW, T}EREFORE, BE IT RES~LVBD, that the invaluable services rendered to Saratoga
by Sherman Miller are hereby recognized by the Saratoga City Council, and condolences
are extended to Wilma Miller, his wife of many years; their son, Dr. Malcolm Miller;
and their grandson.

City Council of the City of Saratoga held on the 19th day of August . , 1981, by
the following votes:
